A truly unpolished gem, Derrick Findley (13-2, 8 KOs) has all the tools to be a force to be reckoned with in the talent filled middleweight division. At only 24 years of age Findley has continuously raised his stock in the boxing world.
Findley has brought an excitement to boxing that has been missing for some time. The way he powerfully glides across the ring so aggressively and fluently is second to none and the reason he can take claim to the alias "Superman."
"There is just so much power in his punches," said Findley’s manager and C.E.O. One In A Million, Inc. Octavius James. "Derrick is someone that has the power and skill that is hard to match."
With a chiseled physique and a chin of granite Findley has time and time again lived up to his nickname of "Superman" walking through opponent’s punches effortlessly and imposing his will as he sees fit. As time continues on Findley has continued to refine his skill sets developing a tremendous defense as well as a brutal offensive attack.
On a seven fight win streak since his decision loss to 2004 Olympic Gold Medalist Andre Ward Findley has regained focus on his road to the top of the division.
Coming off two big wins over top competition Findley handed former star boxer Miguel Hernandez from the ESPN boxing series "The Contender" a one sided decision loss as Findley dominated from the starting bell.
Following his victory over Hernandez Findley quickly demolished the highly touted Polish Prospect Andrzej Fonfara in just two rounds with an astonishing knockout victory on the Co-Main Event of ESPN 2 "Friday Night Fights."
Findley is quick to engage his opponent and as time has gone by he is becoming more able to impose his game plan throughout the duration of a fight. With only two blemishes on his outstanding record Findley would love for the opportunity to rectify his two losses against Jorge Alberto Gonzalez as well as Olympic Gold Medalist Andre Ward.
"Both of these fighters have a win on their records with name next to it and that is something I would like to clear up. (Andre) Ward is a great boxer, but now I am more prepared for what he is able to do, and Gonzalez barely received a majority decision victory the first fight, next time he won’t see the final bell. I am ready to redeem myself from those two blemishes on my record and if I have the opportunity deliver these two the Derrick Findley that should have fought the first time."
"Derrick is truly an unknown talent in the Middleweight division," said One In A Million, CEO Octavius James. "He is slowly gaining the recognition that he deserves after Hernandez and Fonfara fights and I know this year will be a break out year for Derrick in the Middleweight Division."

Background
Derrick “Superman” Findley was born on May 5th, 1984 in Chicago,
Illinois. One of five children, “Superman” was raised by a Superwoman
Diane. “My mom is incredible, she raised us with no help and she
did an absolutely incredible job.”
He and his family had to fight for everything they had in their life growing up in the tough south side of Chicago, but moved to Gary, Indiana at an early age. “Chicago will always have a special place in my heart, but we needed a change,” said Findley.
Boxing was a way to escape from those rugged streets, but now his fights have him dominating opponents in the ring. Findley has been boxing since 1998 and eventually landed under the tutelage of Gary P.A.L.’s legendary John Taylor.
“John (Taylor) may have been the best thing for him,” said James. “That is a perfect place for kids to try and escape streets because John has turned the lives around for so many youth and Findley is definitely one of them.”
Through the help and support of Taylor, Findley has turned a one-time hobby into a potentially unlimited professional career. “If it wasn’t for Mr. Taylor and his program, who knows what would have become of me, but now I’m on the right path and looking to become the best fighter in the world.”
Currently, Findley works full time for a Grocery Chain handling
the deli department when he isn’t knocking out his opponents.
