Ochoa is one of the brightest and youngest stars in Octavius James’ One In A Million, Inc. stable. The Hobart resident has some of the quickest hands of any boxer, but there is also plenty of power inside those hands, as all seven of his wins have come by knockout.

What started as something to keep him off the streets, Ochoa has turned boxing into a career and couldn’t be happier with his choice of becoming the present and future of professional boxing.

The 26 year-old debuted on September 21st, 2007 against Michael Davis with great success. Ochoa needed almost every second of the scheduled four rounds to win by TKO in the 4th round (0:57).

“I remember the nerves, anxiety and the excitement,” said Ochoa of his first fight. Ochoa made his debut and this fight is the one that made the 22 year-old calm his nerves and settle to become a very confident and rising star in the sport of boxing.

As Ochoa has grown more accustomed to the pressures in the ring he has learned to calm those nerves and he has become one of the most devastating boxers in the One In A Million Stable.

Dominating every competitor that has stepped in with him, Ochoa has developed being a fan favorite. His hard hitting, high velovity style has guaranteed excitement for boxing fans from start to finish.

He continues to climb the boxing ladder and with Octavius James’ One In A Million, Inc. on his side, the sky is the limit for this welterweight. “Ed is just one of the best young fighters I have ever seen, just an incredibly talented kid,’ said Ochoa’s manager and C.E.O. of O.I.A.M. Octavius James.

Career in review
September 21st, 2007--  In his professional debut, the lightening hands of Ochoa were too much for Michael Davis, as he won by TKO in the 4th round (0:57) of a scheduled four round bout at the Radisson Hotel @ Star Plaza in Merrillville, Indiana.

November 16th, 2007--  In his second fight, Ochoa would take on Antonio Brown. Though Brown was the larger of the two fighters Ochoa would make quick work of Brown stopping him in the 2nd round (1:01) at the Radisson Hotel @ Star Plaza in Merrillville, Indiana.

February 1st, 2008-- Once again, Ochoa’s opponent is the larger man, but the same result came when Ochoa knocked out a very game Fred Thomas. April 19th, 2008--  His next fight would take place at the Majestic star, but the results continued to stay the same as he once again by TKO in the 1st round (1:14) over Patrick Walker.

August 2nd, 2008--  In the biggest venue to date, Ochoa headlined at U.S. Steel Yard in Gary, Indiana, where he was supposed to put on a show for the 2,500+ that attended the Steel Yard Brawl, but instead Ochoa left disappointed with fight. Ochoa won by TKO over Ralf Franklin in the 1st round, just 11 seconds into the fight.

October 3rd, 2008--  In his last fight of 2008, Ochoa stayed perfect as he won by TKO over Christian Nash in the 4th round of a scheduled four round fight at the Radisson Hotel @ Star Plaza in Merrillville, Indiana.

January 23rd, 2009--  In his first scheduled six round bout Ochoa stepped in with a true ring tested foe as he squared off against Jess Salway. Background
Life equals family for Ed Ochoa. His father and his uncles were there for him in whatever he attempted as a child and this sense of commitment is something Ochoa has carried over into his adult life.

Ochoa helped put his wife Christina through nursing school and now she works as an ER nurse in a Chicago hospital.

Ochoa and Christina live in Hobart, Indiana with their three children Eddie (7), Jaden (5), Eliana (3). Ochoa was brought to this world by his father Raul and mother Maryann. He has two sisters Dotty (33), Jessica (23) and two brothers Robert (30) and Daniel (28).

“My father is my idol, reason being when he was working coming up from Southside Chicago trying to stay out of the bad crowd, he worked 16 hours a day at the mills. Just his work ethic and all and his determination from when he came from Jalisco, Mexico with four sisters and he was pretty much the dad at 11 years old. Very strong man and that is where I get my work ethic from,” said Ochoa.

"We support each other in any way that we can," Ochoa said of his wife and himself. "I helped her while she was going to school and now she is all for me in whatever I do and that includes boxing.

"They are such a great family," James said. "They are always there for each other and its' a great thing to see."

Ochoa said. I know everyone at One In A Million have my best interest at heart. They are a great team and I know that we'll all be successful together."

"I only had a few amateur fights so everyday is a learning experience," Ochoa continued. "I plan on keeping busy and listening to my team. I plan on taking boxing as far as it goes."
