Perez Jr., who is very proud of his Puerto Rican heritage, enters the ring with Puerto Rican flags all over his boxing attire and always gives the crowd an incredible effort.
Jimmy grew up in a household where boxing is on the television all day long, as his father Jimmy Sr. is his trainer, his mother Aida is a black belt and his sister Tiffany is a Chicago Golden Gloves champion.
"I have always loved boxing," said Jimmy. "There is nothing like being in the ring."
"Jimmy is one of the most tenacious fighters we have," said Perez’s manager and CEO of One In A Million, Inc. Octavius James. "He is always a huge draw, because fans want to see a show and that is what he does."
Perez Jr. has just one blemish in his young career, when he was shocked by Matt Short and knocked out in the 1st round at the Majestic Star Casino in Gary, Indiana.
Perez returned to the ring on April 19th, 2008 and made sure there was going to be no surprises this time round as he pounded Harold Gaddy for a four-round unanimous decision with his return to the Majestic Star Casino in Gary, Indiana.
