Jose Guzman busted onto the boxing scene on September 1st, 2006 in his first professional fight. This ultra-talented lightweight has only gone into the final round of only one fight since his knockouts have come early and often.
Guzman won his first five fights, including four knockouts before picking up his first loss on March 14th, 2008. He has just 10 rounds of ring work because of his incredibly quick and powerful hands.
The Fort Wayne resident recently defeated Bobby Jaskierny by 4th round TKO as he continues to pound his opponents into submission with thunderous body shots.
“I think my power is deceptive,” said Guzman. “People look at my frame and don’t think I can knock them out and they would be wrong.”
“Jose is incredibly talented and the sky is the limit for him,” said Guzman’s manager and C.E.O. of One In A Million, Inc. Octavius James. “When he steps in that ring, I wouldn’t want to be the opponent, he is all business inside that ring.”
Guzman has shown great heart, especially in his November 17th, 2006 bout against Mike Maley. After having a point deducted for spitting his mouthpiece out twice, Jose rallied to knockout Maley in the 2nd round.
Guzman has just two blemishes in his career, which came in his
last fight on March 14th, 2008 against Javier Garcia and March 27,
2009 to Dannie Williams.

Background
Jose Guzman was born Michoacan, Mexico on February 14th, 1986 and
is one of two fighters in the One In A Million stable born in Michoacán,
Mexico, along with fellow stablemate Juan “Mexican Connection” Aguilar.
Guzman left to the United States with a friend to work, which he is currently working construction in Fort Wayne, but also to pursue his dream of becoming one of the best fighters in the world.
“Mexico is a beautiful country, with beautiful people, but in order to improve on my career and train in better facilities I knew I had to come to the United States,” said Guzman.
“Thanks to Octavius for giving me a chance to come out here and make a good living doing something that I love to do and something I feel I was born to do.”
Guzman has since left his hometown for the United States and currently resides in Fort Wayne, Indiana. “I like Fort Wayne, but of course I miss Mexico sometimes, but I kind of expected that,” said Guzman.
“We are definitely happy to have a young man like Jose (Guzman)
with us,” said James. “He is tremendously talented and continues
to get better each and every fight. At only 23 years old there is
really no end at how good Jose can be.”
