Aguilar has boxed for 29 rounds in his eight career fights, but the Michoacan, Mexico native has put on some electric shows, including his professional debut in Indianapolis, Indiana at the 8 Second Saloon against Mark Prince.

“It was such an amazing and memorable night,” said Aguilar of his debut.

Aguilar made quick work of Prince, as he won by 1st round TKO by displaying some incredible speed and power. “Everything went so fast and when it was over I could have fought a whole other fight.”

“You can watch his fights and just sit in awe because of just how good he really is,” said James.

“We are definitely excited about (Aguilar’s) potential,” James added. Aguilar started his career by winning his first five fights including wins two wins over Donnie Smith and two tough four-round unanimous decisions over Vance Garvey and Ron Clardy respectively.

In Aguilar’s last fight on October 3rd, 2008, the “Mexican Connection” went six rounds, following a nearly three-year layoff, against a very talented Orphius Waite. Waite would get the best of Aguilar, as Waite won a six-round unanimous decision.

“That fight was incredible,” said James of the Aguilar-Waite battle. “Neither fighter was willing to budge and it was definitely an amazing and memorable fight.”

Background
Born Juan Telesfor Aguilar on May 8th, 1980 in Michaocan, Mexico, Aguilar is one of two Mexican fighters in the One In A Million stable who was called Michaocan his home at one time along with Jose Guzman.

“I love my hometown (of Guadalajara), but it was just time to move,” said Aguilar. “Mexico is such a beautiful place and I miss it from time to time.”

Aguilar has bounced around the U.S. since moving here, including stops in Arizona and Chicago before settling down in Whiting, Indiana where he continues “Boxing Into The Future” with O.I.A.M.

“Whiting is a very nice place, it has a good Hispanic population and they have embraced me.”

There were no gyms for top-flight training where he lived because Aguilar is from a very poor background. “The opportunity to fight and train in state-of-the-art facilities are very rare in Mexico, so moving to the United States was definitely something I needed to do to improve my career.”

“I’m just happy Octavius (James) has been so kind in giving me such an incredible opportunity to better my abilities,” added Aguilar. “With One In A Million in my corner, I really see nothing but the biggest and best for me.”

“We are definitely happy to have Juan (Aguilar) and Jose (Guzman) with us,” said James. “They both are unbelievably talented and I’m just happy to give anyone an opportunity to improve themselves.”
