“(Marcus) has unlimited talent and an unlimited future,” said Thompkins’ manager and CEO of One In A Million, Inc. Octavius James. “He is such a quiet young man, but he is as tough and composed as any fighter I have ever seen.”

Thompkins made his professional debut on November 16th, 2007 at the Radisson Hotel against Michael Davis in emphatic fashion. Thompkins stalked Davis all four rounds and earned himself a unanimous decision.

Thompkins has an unblemished record and has yet to be truly tested while showing extreme endurance, but Thompkins is also coming off a complete destruction of Alan Moore when he delivered a huge right hand right on the chin for a 1st round knockout.

Career in Review
November 16th, 2007--   Thompkins made his professional debut just 15 days after his 23rd birthday and blew out the candles wishing for a win. That’s exactly what he got, as he beat Michael Davis by a four round unanimous decision. All the scorecards inside the Radisson Hotel @ Star Plaza in Merrillville, Indiana read 40-36.

April, 19th, 2008--  Thompkins second fight at the Majestic Star Casino in Gary, Indiana was very similar to his debut. The Michigan City resident won by unanimous decision over Chanele Buckanan with all four scorecards reading 40-36; just like his debut.

August 2nd, 2008--  At U.S. Steel Yard in Gary, Indiana, the fight against Derrick Hill was called in the 3rd round (0:56) of a scheduled four round fight when Hill received an accidently head butt that caused a cut over his left eye.

January 23rd, 2009--  Returning back to the Radisson Hotel @ Star Plaza in Merrillville, Indiana Thompkins returned to the ring for his toughest opponent to date as he faced ring veteran Danny Schlienz. With numerous exciting exchanges Thompkins and Schlienz battled all four rounds. The youth of Thompkins helped him control the uptempo pace throughout the bout and earned him a unanimous decision with all judges seeing it 40-36 all in favor of Thompkins.

March 28, 2009-- At the LaPorte Civic Auditorium, Thompkins dropped Alan Moore with a 1st round knockout (1:47).

Background
Marcus Thompkins was born on November 1st, 1984 in Michigan City, Indiana. The young and talented fighter still calls Michigan City home and learned how to fight from his father at a very young age.

“Growing up in Michigan City wasn’t always easy, but I love my city and it has been there to back me since I picked up the gloves,” said Thompkins. “I’m not one to be loud and gloating, but I always will let people know where I’m from.”

A graduate of Michigan City High School, Thompkins was a top prospect out of Double D’s boxing in Michigan City and he has used boxing to keep him from getting into trouble compiling an impressive 44-6 amateur record.

“Just a tough kid and you can tell he has to work really hard for all the things that he has,” said Octavius James.

Thompkins undefeated run as a professional hasn’t changed this quiet talent even a little bit. “I try and let my boxing do my talking for me, because I’m just not a talker, I’m a fighter.”
