Waite has some major skills to back up all the hype behind this electric middleweight prospect. The Chicago native has recently joined Octavius James’ One In A Million, Inc. and has the whole company excited about his potential.
"(Orphius) is just an incredible talent," said Waite’s manager and CEO of One In A Million, Inc. Octavius James.
Waite made his professional debut on November 30th, 2007 at the Ho-Chunk Sports and Expo Center in Lynnwood, Illinois in forceful fashion with 2nd round TKO of Nick Whiting.
"I bring excitement, my style of fighting is in unorthodox," said Waite. "I study (Mike) Tyson and I just want to give the crowd something they haven’t seen since him."
Waite’s body looks as if he was chiseled out of granite and his opponents would say his hands feel like them too. "I’m a new kind of middleweight, people can’t believe 165," added Waite about his chiseled frame.
Waite is riding a four fight win streak to start his career, which has included three knockouts in his 11 rounds of boxing. He has only gone the distance one time, which came against Juan "Mexican Connection" Aguilar at the Radisson Hotel at Star Plaza in Merrillville, Indiana.
Waite would go on and win a six-round unanimous decision in his last fight of 2008. He has gotten his 2009 campaign off to a great start with a dominating performance against another undefeated up and comer, Chance Western on January 23rd; Waite defeated Western by 1st round TKO.
